Police began detaining participants in unauthorized rallies in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
For the second day in a row, the opposition is trying to hold an unauthorized rally near Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg. Several dozen people gathered in front of the entrance to Gostiny Dvor around 18:00, after which they began whistling and shouting slogans.
Police officers warned those gathered several times that the action was not coordinated with the authorities, and if they continued their actions, they would be detained. The protesters did not react without warning the police, after which riot police officers began arresting them, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
Police officers detained 20 participants in the unauthorized rally “Against Unfair Elections”. This is reported by Fontanka.Ru".
According to a representative of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the protest participants were taken to police departments, where protocols on administrative offenses are drawn up against them. The arrests began after the police demanded that the protesters disperse, but the protesters ignored this.
According to the organizer, the participants of the action were collected through the social network VKontankte. About 1,000 people came to the rally, he said. According to journalists, the police are detaining not only protesters, but also random passers-by.
At the same time, in the center of Moscow the opposition is holding rallies sanctioned by the authorities against the falsification of voting results in the parliamentary elections. About a thousand people gathered for the Communist Party rally. They say they do not agree with the official voting results in a number of regions and intend to challenge them in the courts.
A similar rally in the center of the capital is being held today by the Solidarity movement. The main slogans of the protest: “This election is a farce.”! Let’s return power to the people!». According to media reports, the number of protesters could reach 10 thousand people.
Before this, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov said that the party considers the elections “absolutely illegitimate from both a legal and moral point of view”.
The St. Petersburg leader of A Just Russia also announced non-recognition of the election results. According to her, the party does not agree with the results of the elections held on December 4.
In her opinion, in many areas her party actually defeated its closest rival, United Russia. But the victory was taken away by falsification, which, according to the “right-wingers”, was so massive that it became a system.
It also became known that police officers blocked the passage along Bolshaya Lubyanka in the center of Moscow in order to prevent the continuation of the march of participants in the opposition rally, which took place on Chistoprudny Boulevard.
Police with iron shields lined up across the roadway, but the marchers turned onto Kuznetsky Most Street and continued moving. They shout slogans criticizing the country’s leadership and the results of the past parliamentary elections.
Let us note that yesterday elections to the State Duma were held in Russia. The party gained about 50%, losing its constitutional majority, and observers reported massive violations.
After the State Duma elections, the Russian opposition announced its intention to bring people to the streets. Almost 260 people were detained yesterday in Moscow for participating in various unauthorized rallies. Detentions were also carried out in St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod.
A blogger-observer said that at his site: “they wrote down a number from the idiot, took … the bag and ran away”
A blogger under the nickname tarasfedoseev, who, according to him, participated in the elections to the State Duma held on Sunday, quite eloquently and without mincing words told how the vote counting took place at his site, briefly describing everything that happened like this: “they wrote a number from the bullshit, took … the bag and ran away”. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev cast doubt on similar stories and even video evidence that has been replete with the entire blogosphere since morning.
According to the blogger, he worked as an observer from the A Just Russia party at polling station No. 2660 in Moscow. According to him, he, of course, expected “carousels” and stuffing of ballots, but what happened during the “counting” of votes shocked him, NEWSru reports.com.
“It all started when, five minutes before the polling station closed, a man ran into the hall with Yabloko propaganda and began shouting that it was being distributed on the street near the polling station. The chairman of the commission called the TEC and was told to remove observers from Yabloko. Everyone present except me and the old man from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation voted “for” and the boys were led out by a policeman,” he writes.
The observer assures that about 300 citizens voted for “A Just Russia” at the polling station, while 458 voted for “United Russia”. At the same time, in the protocol on the wall they wrote that United Russia received 506 votes, while Right Russia received a little more than a hundred. While the blogger was calling the headquarters of A Just Russia, the bag of ballots disappeared in an unknown direction along with the chairman of the commission.
“At this time, the chairman of https://7sultans-casino.co.uk the commission grabbed an unsealed bag of ballots from the table and, together with the secretary and some other members of the commission, left the hall. An old man from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation followed them, and when he returned he said that they left in a car. What the hell are carousels??! They wrote down a number from the idiot, took a bag and ran away!", the blogger is indignant.
After this, the blogger tried to shame the teachers who were members of the commission at this site and silently watched what was happening. True, the dialogue escalated into a skirmish in the style of “the fool himself”.
“Then these ladies went somewhere. And the old man from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation disappeared. There is no one to write a complaint to – the chairman left with a bag of ballots, there is also nothing to recount. “I went home,” said the blogger. He came to the bitter conclusion that all calls from the opposition to come to the polls and vote for anyone other than United Russia turned out to be meaningless.
An equally egregious case is described in the n-safonova blog on behalf of an observer at site No. 2637. The chairman of the commission, Nadezhda Yuryevna Gazova, seeing the low percentage of United Russia, complained about pressure from above and proposed to “give” Yabloko votes to United Russia. The observer refused to participate in the falsification and, allegedly, was beaten by Gazova herself and her plumber husband.
Law enforcement agencies of the Kirov region confirmed that at polling station No. 932 in the Oryol region, 77 ballots with marks already marked for “United Russia” and 25 ballots for a candidate for the post of head of a rural settlement were discovered and seized.
In St. Petersburg, on the eve of the elections, a shortage of ballot papers was discovered. In particular, members of election commissions from the Kalininsky and Petrogradsky districts of the city complained about the discrepancy in the number of ballots indicated on the packaging.
Observers compared the results given to them with the official ones and were surprised
Observers from opposition parties the day after the State Duma elections discovered that the voting protocols they were given at polling stations did not coincide with the voting results published on the website of the Moscow City Election Commission, Gazeta reports.ru".
“Such a brazen theft of votes is hard to believe, but it happened. I have in my hands an officially and correctly drawn up protocol from precinct election commission 1701, where I worked as an observer. I was there until the end of the counting and am responsible for the results. If there were any stuffing, it was minimal,” wrote observer Dmitry Surnin. He came to the polling station as a representative of Yabloko, although he is not a member of the party.
Surnin’s protocol records that United Russia received 271 votes at the polling station. However, according to the Electoral Commission, in this polling station the party in power gained 662 votes. The results of other parties also changed: A Just Russia and Yabloko each lost a hundred votes, and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation unexpectedly gained ten votes.
The protocol, which Surnin posted on his Facebook page,* is drawn up in accordance with the law: there is a seal, as well as signatures of the commission members who worked at the 1701st precinct in the Danilovsky district of Moscow.
At the same time, according to Surnin, the counting of votes at the polling station took place without violations, and he managed to find a common language with the commission itself, although at the beginning of voting there was a tense attitude.
Observers say that a similar situation with discrepancies in the numbers in the protocols and the final data on the Moscow City Election Commission website occurred at polling station No. 1181 in Northern Izmailovo.
Aleksey Zaitsev, a student of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, who was present at the polling station from the Yabloko party, having checked the results on the IPCC website, discovered inconsistencies with the data in the protocol that the commission issued to him. Zaitsev’s protocol, as in the case of Surnin, was signed by members of the commission and has a stamp on it.
In Zaitsev’s polling station, A Just Russia lost 210 votes, and the LDPR lost 100. Patriots of Russia lost ten votes, another five disappeared from Right Cause. United Russia received 346 extra votes, not indicated in the protocol issued to observers. Zaitsev notes that invalid ballots were most likely included in the count – their number has also changed.
The commission at the site, as Zaitsev notes, behaved extremely correctly and did not interfere with the work of observers. We also note that many voting participants, having familiarized themselves with the election results, note serious differences in voting results even at neighboring polling stations located in the same area.
USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev called the results of the State Duma elections held on December 4 dishonest and called on the authorities to hold new elections.
“Literally every day more and more Russians do not believe that the announced election results are fair. And, in my opinion, ignoring public opinion discredits the authorities and destabilizes the situation,” Interfax quotes Mikhail Gorbachev as saying.
According to the former Soviet leader, the country’s leadership must admit the fact of numerous falsifications and fraud.
“I am convinced that the Prime Minister and the President must take the initiative to keep everything within the framework of the democratic process. We have to make difficult decisions, make big and inevitable changes, and this should not be done without citizens or against them,” he emphasized.
Gorbachev called on the authorities to annul the voting results and call new elections.
“Lies like this kill trust in government. Therefore, I think it is necessary to cancel the results of this vote and announce new elections,” said Mikhail Gorbachev.
Before Interfax, this opinion of Gorbachev was expressed in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica (translation by InoPressa).
“At the moment there is only one solution, and this is also my advice: to annul the election results and hold new ones,” Gorbachev said.
According to him, ignoring public opinion “discredits the authorities and destabilizes society”. Gorbachev believes that the authorities must admit that numerous falsifications and frauds took place.
“After criticism and protests during the demonstration on Chistye Prudy, it became obvious that disagreement with the methods of counting votes in the interests of United Russia is growing. The opinion has become stronger, and demonstrators are talking about this, that Putin’s party did not get more than 25% of the votes, let alone 50. “All this is very serious,” Gorbachev noted, adding that the Kremlin has approached “a red line that cannot be crossed.”.
He emphasized that “lies kill trust in power”.
On the same day, December 7, a similar initiative was made by the founder of Yabloko, Grigory Yavlinsky. He addressed the leaders of other parties:
– All parties that believe that there is great fraud should resign their mandates and thereby force new elections to be held, which will take into account what has happened now.
Yavlinsky continued the conversation on this topic on December 8 in St. Petersburg.
“I officially propose that the leaders of all parties who consider the results of the State Duma elections to be falsified, come together… sit at a round table and demand correction of the election results and the resignation of Vladimir Churov,” Yavlinsky said.
The politician added that since the leaders of parliamentary parties did not risk surrendering their deputy mandates in the State Duma, the next possible solution could be the demand to review the election results.
Speaking about the possibility of surrendering the mandates received by the Yabloko faction in the St. Petersburg legislative assembly, G.Yavlinsky noted that such a scenario is possible if re-elections are announced throughout the country.
“We are talking about re-elections in the country. This is not only a question for Zaks, I think that we are ready to discuss in the faction… If re-elections are announced in the country, then we are ready for this,” Yavlinsky said.
In an interview with Radio Liberty, representatives of A Just Russia and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation criticized this initiative.
Let us recall that earlier Mikhail Gorbachev, in an interview with Radio Liberty, sharply criticized the United Russia party and its policies.
Meanwhile, there is a heated discussion on social networks about the upcoming rally against election fraud on December 10. The number of people who supported the rally approached 30,000 people.
